St. Louis ZooPosted: February 28, 2016Katherine and I went to the St. Louis Zoo. It was free admission (although you had to pay for parking), but it was a really great zoo! It was the first nice day of the year (so it was packed) but it was still a blast!Butterfly HabitatI think one of the coolest things about this zoo was that they had a butterfly pavilion inside the zoo. Since it was the first really nice weekend of the year the place was packed, including this really small pavilion. But I still had fun taking photos!withered WingsSwinging From the VinesCurled TongueBright Blue SkiesOf course these butterflies were behind glass, but a butterfly can dream...Landing for a MomentSpeedy FastRight as we walked up this cheetah stood up and walked out of sight. Good thing I was faster than him at getting the shot. Sleeping Snow LeopardI took this shot behind a fence (doesn't look like it, does it?). Luckily I could get right up on the fence and crop the photo a little to get the fence lines out of the photo. On a LogThe zoo had a bunch of ants behind some glass with a giant windy fake branch. These ants have to walk a good 20-30 feet before they are off the branch.Long TusksBig EyesThirsty Thirsty HippoRed KangarooPhoto BombedSnack TimeI really enjoyed the ape exhibit because unlike the Denver zoo, the St. Louis Zoo had the apes down below instead of behind a giant greasy/scratched wall of glass or ugly net. Walking AroundThe animals were all pretty active too, considering we were at the zoo in the afternoon. But I'm not complaining.Orange Fur PreparingI got a series of shots of this seal catching fish. Eye on the PrizeAlmost Got itSweet Sweet FoodI got this photo right before the seal then flipped the fish in the air again to get this fish to slide down it's throat, but I thought this would be a cool shot to end with.
