The ecology of the beaver pond is depicted in this totem. When the beaver damns the stream, the pond attracts the frog and the fish. They provide food for the bear. The bear leaves some scraps and the raven cleans the remains. A live raven has landed at the top and bonded with his soul mate, the totem raven. As with this one, totem poles often tell stories conceived by the sculptor or may reflect personal philosophies of the carver.
