Gardens on Spring Creek
Katherine and I went down to the Garden of Lights, an event that the Gardens on Spring Creek put on every year. There are a ton of lights and it's a great spot to go take photos. This year, I tried a new technique, called Bokeh. I 3D printed a filter holder and printed out a new aperture in the shape of a star. The problem is that you need a lens with a very wide aperture (f/2 or lower). My widest aperture lens I own is f/3.5. In order for this to work, I had to zoom way in (300mm). It wasn't ideal, but I think I got some great shots for my very first time trying this new technique. Maye It will inspire me to buy a new lens.

This grasshopper is always at the front of the Garden's entrance every year.
Home Sweet Home
This is one of Woodward's displays. This year, Woodward is under construction, so the Gardens on Spring Creek took their display's. We have ever seen these displays before at Woodward, but I overheard some people talking about how you never get to get this close to them, so this is a special treat.

Bokeh
This was the first thing I really got a good Bokeh shot of. I took the photo without the filter and saw the round blurred out lights in the distance and thought I'd give it a try with my filter. It didn't turn out perfect, but it sure does look pretty cool.
Photographer in the Night
Katherine took my old DSLR with us to take some photos.
Red Bulbs
This is another Bokeh shot. I like the amount of Bokeh artifacts, just not the location of them. Better luck next time!
Santa's Workshop
This is another one of Woodward's displays. All the elve's had a motor attached to them so they worked as we watched!
Starry Ball
I really liked these balls, but there weren't very many opportunities to try out my new Bokeh filter. I finally found a spot that worked out well!
Tunnel of Stars
There was a tunnel of lights that I decided to give my new Bokeh filter a try.
Vibrant Circles
I took this photo as the setup to try out my Bokeh filter, but the Bokeh filter didn't work very well because there is just too many lights that are out of focus. But the trial shot ended up being my favorite!
